Bob's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
July 21, 2003
Been a long time, eh. Baby and Daddy have been through some busy times. Right now, the young son is on a road trip with Mommy, from Colorado to Ohio and back. They're probably somewhere in Missouri right now.
So I've been looking at pictures in between working and getting stuff done that I normally wouldn't be able to get to if the child were here. I'd prefer to have the child, you know, rather than getting some extra work done.
I look at the old pictures when Jordan was first born. He was so small. Still so inquisitive. But totally dependent on someone to get him around, put food in his mouth. There is still a lot for which he is dependent, but first you have to catch him.
That sweet, brand new human container that he was is gone, except in pictures, except in memory, except in writing.
Always take a zillion pictures of your children growing up. In my day, my parents took quite a few pictures, but all tolled, there are probably only a couple of hundred. I took that many the first three days my baby was in the world. But my parents didn't have digital cameras when I was born.
