THE FALLS
Been awhile since I was here. The older Jordan gets, the more time needs be spent making sure he doesn't eat the dog food, fall off the kitchen table, throw away his books and toys into the trash can.

I am the stay-at-home, work-at-home dad, so Jordan's increasing mobility and independence has a definite influence on my paycheck. Lucky for me, the missus brings home the big bacon.

The little guy is 15 months old March 3. He's babbling is sometimes nonstop. He's got most sounds incorporated to some extent. Much progress has been made since his one-year checkup when the doctor scolded me and Jordan's mom for not reading to him more so that he was saying more words.

One new thing that has happened the past couple of weeks is that Jordan has decided to climb up on his toys instead of just play with them. This results in more falling. But he's learning to fall better, most of the time keeping his head off the floor. Even if he hits, he's back up immediately, and back on whatever it was he fell from. One night I watched him fall three times from a straddle-and-ride toy. He was getting up for his fourth time when Mom came home so he chased her down.

He's a busy little guy, stacking and unstacking, packing and unpacking and packing, tiring himself out for naps and bed time. And those times mean it's time for me to get some real work done.

Hasta luego.
