Everything – Yes, Everything – Is a Gift
8 Ways to Start Believing It
3. Our ability to improve the world has nothing to do with changing others, and everything to do with how much love we bring to our moments.
4. Love is more than an emotion. In fact, it is primarily an action. We love by letting go of fear.
5. Anger. Blame. Disappointment. Expectations. Beliefs. Control. Gossip. The need to understand. Being a victim. Attachment to outcomes. All are fear. As is any choice that is grasping rather than freeing, separating rather than unifying. These are the kinds of habits we must continually give up if we are to become the person we truly are.
6. One of life's delightful milestones is when we start to celebrate fear as the wonderful teacher it is: showing us what deserves our attention so that we can bring forward our true selves ever more robustly. Some wise soul once said that fear is the golden key that unlocks the heart.
7. Living begins when we take responsibility for everything we think, feel and do. No one in the world has ever made us angry.
8. The universe is a friendly place. Its spirit is playful, loving, deep – always encouraging us to make a choice from our higher self. Pain isn't punishment. It's the Divine whispering, "Make another choice. You're much bigger than this."
9. No moment is more important than another. Whether we are comforting our dying mother or clipping our toenails, the universe asks but one thing: Bring all the love we can to the here and now.
