Showing Your Pregnant Wife You Care

Another important act of kindness that can boost any woman's mood is to let her know how wonderful she looks. So tell your wife just how beautiful she is, says Karen Sherman, a Long Island, N.Y.-based psychologist with a specialty in relationships and co-author of Marriage Magic! Find It, Keep It, Make It Last (Authorhouse, 2004). "Remind her of how much she means to you and how much you're looking forward to sharing a new life with her, which includes your growing family," she adds.

Sherman warns it's never a good idea to comment about another woman's attractiveness, especially because your wife may be toying with serious doubts about her own beauty in her current state.

This advice is echoed by April Masini, a Los Angeles author AskApril.com, a dating and relationship online magazine. "Don't criticize your wife's weight gain – ever," Masini says. "If she criticizes her own weight gain, reassure her that she's making a beautiful sacrifice for your child and family by taking such good care of her bdy. Remind her how womanly she is in this state, and cherish it because it's temporary."
