It's All in How You Look at It!
Conroy also suggests altering the way you give instructions and correct your child. Instead of focusing on what the child should not do, tell your child what you would like accomplished. When correcting, try saying, "I would like it better if you did this," instead of "I don't like the way you did that!" Most important, learn to listen to yourself. How do you respond to situations? Do you react positively, or is your reaction more akin to the grim reaper? Practice thinking positively and begin to place things in a more positive light. Take advantage of the opportunity you have to build better relationships with your kids by taking everyday situations and showing your kids how to look at life in a positive way.
