Always Time for Art

There are also plenty of fun activities for a toddler who enjoys dabbling in art.

Dublin, Ohio, mom Meredith Liepelt, who says her kids love to do art projects, keeps a secret box filled with craft supplies for days when she and her children can't get outside due to inclement weather. "They find it very exciting to open it up and play with the new crafts – it's like Christmas all over again," she says.

Nolan likes to take a large sheet of blank paper and take turns putting handprints on it with her son. When they finish, they hang it in their kitchen and call it their "modern art."

Another good thing to do is have your toddler practice tearing pictures out of magazines you don't need anymore. This helps with their fine motor skills, and they will have fun choosing which pictures to tear out. Afterwards, they can paste their pictures into collages with construction paper and glue.
