Snowshoeing for All Ages
A Winter Sport for Family Fun
By Amy Carey Bowman
With your map in hand, head for the hills with realistic expectations for your family. Don't expect small children to relish being cold and walking for long distances. Take it slow and make the most of snowshoeing by looking for particular winter birds (bring binoculars!), searching for animal tracks or taking pictures to put in your scrapbook at home. Then celebrate your new adventure with a steaming thermos of hot chocolate.
